Work with Gabions

.
.

Gabions are stone containers retained with wire mesh. They are placed at the foot of a construction site to retain the land, and once in place, are filled with stones from that site .

The reinforcement and filling of stones requires no special material—only the rocks on site, and using gabions can accomplish things that otherwise would require much more time and specialized operators.

The gabions are made with mesh (triple torsion, 8x10 cm squared) of steel wire (with low carbon) of 2,7 mm which is given three layers of galvanization with 270 grams of zinc.

The edges of gabions are also reinforced with 3,4 mm wire. This wire is also used for mooring of the pieces of 2,2 mm .

The gabions may have different appearances, and it is very common to find them shaped like boxes, which can have lengths of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 meters , and a width of 1 meter and a height of 0,5 or 1,0 meters .
